Dear friends and relatives,

Here is some information, which we know from experience, will be helpful when your nearest and dearest are hospitalised.

When visiting:

Friends and relatives aren’t allowed in the operating theatres or recovery rooms. This is due to our strict hygiene regulations in the operating theatres, and in the recovery rooms, all patients require a calm and pleasant recovery environment.

Feel free to accompany the patient on the day of admission, but as mentioned above you will be asked to wait outside the operating theatre. Probably the best and most comfortable solution for you is to return home to wait, and we will contact you as soon as the operation is finished.

However, if you are travelling from a long distance, there are a few alternatives:

At Skodsborg there is a nice cafe where you can buy a cup of coffee and a light snack. Or you can go for a walk in the beautiful surroundings; the woods or on the beach just over the road. From 12:30 the patient rooms on our ward are made ready, and you are welcome to spend the time waiting there with a cup of coffee, where you can listen to music or watch television if you wish.

Finally, it should also be mentioned that Skodsborg has a lovely spa which offers massages and other spa treatments. It is necessary to have booked a time in advance, which you can do by going to www.skodsborg.dk where you can see the prices of the individual treatments. 

Visiting Times:

Since all our patients have single rooms, you can visit your friend or relative whenever you wish. However, please be aware that especially in the mornings, we can be busy with treatments, training, and doctor’s rounds, etc, where you will be asked to wait in the day room. In the afternoon there will also be a training session lasting approx. 20 minutes.






 

Meal Times:

Breakfast is served from 07.30 and is arranged individually with patients.

Lunch takes place in the day room from 11.30, where a large buffet is served from the restaurant “Frederick and Louise”. You are welcome to stay for lunch, but you must book it the same morning with a member of staff. It costs DKK 175 including beverages.

Dinner is served at approx. 18.00 and consists of a three course meal, with wine, from the restaurant “Frederick and Louise”, where chefs from the restaurant prepare the meal on the premises. If you wish to stay for dinner, this must be booked the same morning, and will cost DKK 325 including wine.

There are phones in all the rooms, and you can obtain the phone number as soon as the room is allocated. Using the phone is, however, at your own expense, and calls are charged at hotel rates, so it might be a good idea to bring your own mobile.
